Although the bow is primarily a hunting weapon to hunt small animals and birds and is not deadly, it is still a very important survival weapon dense forests habitat. The traditional frame formed from a curved-majuri bamboo stave makes this bow notch the ends for holding a split bamboo string. From the midsection, the string forked for holding a small square pouch made with bark fibre that carries the pellets and launches them.

This function goes beyond the real ecologic meaning-all that refers to making things with local materials: bamboo and bark rope. The bark rope that covers both ends of the stave serves to enhance the strength and flexibility of the bow while being drawn. Such bows are a part and parcel of Angami Nagas who are people associated with advanced agriculture and crafts. Though, like this bow, these have worked wonders while conserving the environment...It is an ideal representation of their sustenance, intimate ecological knowledge, and self-reliant living in a traditional tribal setup. For now, the traditional pellet bow competes with modern implements, but its display gets special representation and endorsement on cultural and anthropological fronts with regard to heritage conservation and preservation of indigenous knowledge systems and material culture.
