The Chakhesang Naga community, living in Phesama in Nagaland, is made up of various groups, one of which is the Chokri.In fact, Chethba, where the Chakhesang Cultural Research Center is located, is fast becoming the armory of this tribe in preserving and promoting culture. For Chokri, folk songs sing and dance in its significance in the day-to-day lives of people as well as their cultural activities. The community has a fondness for these songs which it sees as valuable heritage.
