Hugely significant was that in these museums Garo tribesmen presented traditional dances as a platform for promoting their culture. Back into the cultural museum, Garo traditions come alive. It dances blissfully and rhythm fully to express unity and mighty strength in unison with drums and instruments played intermittently.
Usually, such dancers adorn themselves with colorful costumes, headdresses, and ornaments, thus being sights to behold. These are the most worthy occasions, i.e. harvest festivals and thanksgiving celebrations. Rituals performed during these ceremonies are usually dedicated to the land, gods, and ancestors' spirits. They are not only meant for recreation but also help inculcate Garo traditions in the younger generation with the strong belief that the community will exist later in some form.
