The Tribal Cultural Museum in Pune, founded under the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI) in 1965, is a major repository of tribal heritage of Maharashtra. It was set up with an aim to collect and display the culture, customs, and way of life of the various tribes of the state. With more than 1359 artifacts, the museum presents to the public tribal art, handicrafts, and everyday artifacts, which disclose their cultural richness. The museum also serves as a central agency in generating awareness and appreciation of tribal culture through its exhibits, activities, and educational material.
