short description
Chopla is an ancient wooden ladle, cut, and used-for-the-performance by the Rabha community. It illustrates their art of woodcraft: fine and yet rustic. Fully utilitarian, this kitchen appliance is crafted in a single wood piece, showcasing the resourcefulness as well as the craftsmanship of the artisan. It consists rather of two parts-a bowl, whose inner surface is rugged and thus probably conceived for gripping or stirring the contents, and a long handle.Acknowledge that the handle has two bands carved-carved into the middle and one towards the end-among the bands adding grip and ornamentation. The last part of the handle has its tip-rounded and slightly bulbous so acts ergonomically as support and adds aesthetic balance.

Such wooden utensils are generally commonplace in rural and tribal homes as cooking or serving pots given that many homes do not have or often do not utilize metal utensils. "The use of organic material as local wood along with handmade design in the Chopla makes it an entirely green, biodegradable and important ethnographic artifact."
