Tenzing Bodosa, assam
Tenzing Bodosa, an environmentalist and tea planter, was bestowed with the Assam Gaurav Award by the Government of Assam for his outstanding contribution to environmental conservation and social work. Notably, he established an elephant-friendly tea estate that has helped turn attention toward sustaining agricultural practices and conservation of wildlife in Assam.
He is not just a farmer but a figure of endurance, innovation, and stewarding towards environmental awareness. The future generation will get inspired to adopt such sustainable practices and respect for wildlife. Due to his willpower and stubbornness, he finally made it big in life.
From a very young age, Tenzing Bodosa went through all those numerous adversities like losing his father to a militant attack when he was only seven years old. His father died, and then he dropped out after Class 6. He worked really hard for his mother and family. By 13, he was doing petty jobs and later managed to secure a job in a construction company in Malaysia where he learned the skills of driving, operating machinery, and even English.
Awarding the Assam Gaurav Award in 2024 to Tenzing Bodosa is proof of his unmatched contribution to the tea industry and also for environmental conservation. His unique attitude towards living with nature, especially with elephants, really imprints remarkable effects.
